“Sister” (2019)
“Sister” is Magnolia Boulevard’s debut single, released on November 1st, 2019, to coincide with the young band’s first major tour - supporting Blues Traveler on the 25th anniversary tour of the seminal album 'four'. A slow-burning, soul-stirring ode to companionship and sisterhood written by lead singer Maggie Noelle about her best friend, “Sister” is the type of song - and Noelle is the type of singer and lyricist - that doesn’t come around very often, and that can stop you dead in your tracks on first listen.
Produced by Paul Reed Smith.
Cover Artwork by Grace Mayeur for RoadCat Press.
LIVE in BIG SKY (2021)
Recorded live in Big Sky, Montana for the Music In The Mountains Concert Series on Thursday, July 22nd, 2021 and released as a Bandcamp exclusive, ‘Live in Big Sky’ finds Magnolia Boulevard in rare live form. A note from the band about the album: “On July 22, 2021 we played the "Music in the Mountains" series in Big Sky, MT. It was our first show in Montana. Actually, it was the first time any of us in the band had been there. Obviously we were fascinated by how beautiful everything was, but the warm presence and kindness of the people there somehow overshadowed the breathtaking scenery. This event was in the Town Centre and in conjunction with PBR (Professional Bull Riding), which proved to be an enthusiastic crowd. We are so excited to be able to release this on Bandcamp. This was one of Todd's last 7-8 shows of his life, and honestly maybe his best. We weren't able to do a proper mix/master as this is just the board recording, but we felt it needed to be in the world. We cannot thank you enough for your deep love and continued support.”
This is dedicated to our brother, Todd Copeland. We miss you and think of you each and every day that goes by.
New Illusion - EP (2020)
Magnolia Boulevard’s debut EP, ‘New Illusion’, is a pure indicator of the young band’s sound; stunningly fluid and versatile, yet never forced or unfamiliar. There’s plenty of blues, soul and rock ‘n’ roll in the mix, but also elements of funk, jam-band, folk, country, bluegrass, and psychedelia. It’s all fueled by the rhythm section’s elastic grooves, shot through with Gregg Erwin’s expressive and incisive slide guitar licks, and topped by Maggie Noelle’s soul-stirring, downright powerhouse vocals. Thus, ‘New Illusion’ can be seen as the perfect sampler; an easily digestible listen that at once showcases Magnolia Boulevard’s present-day foundation, while hinting at a future full of promise and possibility.
